You can have an Early Pregnancy Scan from 7 weeks of pregnancy. From 8 weeks, we can also provide pregnancy dating and an estimated due date.
From 7 weeks, we would usually expect to visualise your baby's heartbeat. However, what can be seen may depend on your dates and how early the pregnancy is.
Please arrive with a comfortably full bladder, as this can help us obtain clearer images during your scan. We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your abdomen.
Yes. Partners, family members and children are welcome to share the experience with you.
Yes. Your Early Pregnancy Scan includes 2 printed images to take home with you.
Sometimes pregnancy dates can differ from what you expect, particularly in the very early stages. If your pregnancy appears to be earlier than expected, we'll explain what we can see and advise you on the appropriate next steps.
